Our Mission
What Colmer Recovery Is About
Colmer Recovery exists for people who know something needs to change, even if they aren't ready to call it a problem yet.
We walk alongside people at every stage of the recovery journey — from the first quiet questions and early warning signs, through relapse, treatment, and the challenges of staying on track long after treatment ends.
You May Recognize Yourself Here
- You may be wondering if your drinking or substance use has become something more than you intended.
- You may be trying to keep it hidden from your family, friends, or workplace because of shame or fear of what others might think.
- You may have tried to stop before and found yourself relapsing again and again.
- You may be looking for a way to change before substance use takes over more of your life.
- Or you may simply be searching for clarity, because you don’t know where else to turn.
You don't have to have all the answers before you reach out. And you don't have to accept a label before you're ready.
How We Work
At Colmer Recovery, we believe the person living the experience is the expert in their own life. Our role is not to judge, diagnose, lecture, or tell you what recovery should look like. Our role is to listen, understand, ask the right questions, provide perspective, and walk beside you while you discover what is right for you.
- For someone preparing to enter treatment, we provide connection and support through the uncertainty of what comes next.
- For someone waiting for help, we provide a place to begin, rather than feeling like you are waiting alone.
- For someone leaving treatment, we provide continued support as you navigate the realities of everyday life.
- For someone returning to the same cycle of use and relapse, we help explore what hasn’t worked, what might be different this time, and what path could work for you.
Catching It Early
We believe the earlier someone can recognize that substance use is becoming a problem, the more opportunities they have to change course before it becomes a crisis. We help individuals, families, workplaces, and communities recognize the signs, start difficult conversations, and find a path forward before the consequences become harder to reverse.
Our Approach
Our approach is grounded in lived experience, compassion, motivational interviewing, recovery coaching, and the belief that recovery is not one-size-fits-all.
Whether your goal is to explore your relationship with substances, reduce the harm they are causing, pursue abstinence, prepare for treatment, maintain your recovery, or simply understand what is happening in your life, you deserve to be heard without judgment and supported without surrendering your autonomy.
Why This Exists
Colmer Recovery was created from the understanding that recovery is not something you can simply explain to someone — you have to understand what it feels like to be there.
I have been where you are. I found a path forward. I am living a substance-free life. And I want to walk beside you while you find yours.
You don't have to know if you're an addict.
You don't have to know what recovery looks like.
You don't even have to be sure you have a problem.
You just have to be willing to take the first step.
Hope never goes out of style.
